Community Notification: Unplanned Flaring
Share
LNG Canada advises that an unplanned flaring event occurred January 9th at approximately 11:30 AM, resulting in a flare height of approximately 15 – 40 metres. The flaring event is expected to last less than 24 hours and we anticipate increased noise and visible emissions (black smoke) from the flare.
Flaring is a provincially regulated safety measure that ensures the controlled, efficient combustion of natural gas during specific operational phases. It is a critical part of safely operating a facility of this scale and is not expected to be routine during regular operation.
