Community Notification: Unplanned Flaring

LNG Canada advises that an unplanned flaring event occurred today, March 19th at 1:50 pm and is expected to last less than 24 hours, with intermittent flaring and a flare height between 15 metres and 20 metres. We anticipate increased noise and potential visible emissions during this period.

Flaring is a provincially regulated safety measure that ensures the controlled, efficient combustion of natural gas during specific operational phases. It is a critical part of safely operating a facility of this scale and is not expected to be routine during regular operation.
