Community Notification: Unplanned Flaring

LNG Canada advises that an unplanned flaring event occurred yesterday, March 25th at 10:38 am. The flare height was between 15 metres and 20 metres with associated noise and potential visible emissions and lasted approximately 2 hours.

Flaring is a provincially regulated safety measure that ensures the controlled, efficient combustion of natural gas during specific operational phases. It is a critical part of safely operating a facility of this scale and is not expected to be routine during regular operation.
