Community Notification: Unplanned Flaring

Share

LNG Canada advises that an unplanned flaring event occurred yesterday, April 7th at 9:30 p.m. and lasted approximately 3 hours.  The flare height was approximately 10 – 15 metres with associated noise and visible emissions. The flaring will continue intermittently today.

Flaring is a provincially regulated safety measure that ensures the controlled, efficient combustion of natural gas during specific operational phases. It is a critical part of safely operating a facility of this scale and is not expected to be routine during regular operation.
