Community Notification: Unplanned Flaring

LNG Canada advises that an unplanned flaring event occurred today, April 21^st and lasted approximately 2 hours. The flare height was approximately 10-15 metres.

A planned flaring event will start tomorrow, April 22^nd and will result in intermittent flaring with a flare height of approximately 10-15 metres. The planned flaring event is expected to last for approximately 3-4 days. We anticipate increased noise and visible emissions during this period.

Flaring is a provincially regulated safety measure that ensures the controlled, efficient combustion of natural gas during specific operational phases. It is a critical part of safely operating a facility of this scale and is not expected to be routine during regular operation.
