Community Notification: Unplanned Flaring

Share

LNG Canada is conducting unplanned flaring from approximately 3:00 p.m. on September 12, 2026. This activity is expected to take approximately 12 hours. During this time, the community may notice flame heights of approximately 10 to 30 metres, increased noise, and intermittent black smoke.

Flaring is a provincially regulated safety measure that ensures the controlled, efficient combustion of natural gas during specific operational phases. It is a critical part of safely operating a facility of this scale and is not expected to be routine during regular operation.
