Community Notification: Unplanned Flaring

LNG Canada advises that an unplanned flaring event occurred today, March 8th, at approximately 1 a.m.  and will continue until March 9th, with intermittent flaring and a flare height of approximately 20 metres.

Flaring is a provincially regulated safety measure that ensures the controlled, efficient combustion of natural gas during specific operational phases. It is a critical part of safely operating a facility of this scale and is not expected to be routine during regular operation.
