Community Notification: Unplanned Flaring

LNG Canada advises that an unplanned flaring event occurred yesterday, March 11^th at 10:40 p.m. and will continue for approximately one week, with intermittent flaring and a flare height between 15 metres and 90 metres. We anticipate increased noise and visible emissions during this period.

Flaring is a provincially regulated safety measure that ensures the controlled, efficient combustion of natural gas during specific operational phases. It is a critical part of safely operating a facility of this scale and is not expected to be routine during regular operation.
