Community Notification: Unplanned Flaring

LNG Canada advises that an unplanned flaring event will occur between July 28 – August 1, with an expected flare height of approximately 10 to 60 metres. Associated noise and visible emissions are expected to occur during this period. 

Flaring is a provincially regulated safety measure that ensures the controlled, efficient combustion of natural gas during specific operational phases. It is a critical part of safely operating a facility of this scale and is not expected to be routine during regular operation.
