Construction Update August 14, 2020 - Minette Bay offsets
Map of the impacted area

In October 2019, LNG Canada began project offset work in Minette Bay. The work augments existing mud flats, creating salt marshes and rock reef habitats that directly benefit fish and invertebrate populations.

During the week of August 17, 2020, Ledcor Haisla will begin their second season of activities, beginning with road upgrades and completion of their equipment laydowns. This will be followed by bulk hauling materials for salt marsh construction in September. Work will initially be done Monday to Friday but will extend to daily when the bulk hauling commences. Bulk hauling will continue to February 2021.

The safety of the community, the environment and workforce are top of mind in every activity we undertake. Ledcor Haisla will manage traffic on this road with the use of pilot cars to escort trucks.

Drivers may experience short delays, but local traffic will have the right-of-way.
