March 11 – COVID-19 Update

Share

LNG Canada continues to monitor and respond to the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak. Our core focus remains on protecting the health, safety and well-being of First Nations and community stakeholders living adjacent to our project site, as well as the employees and contractors who may be at a greater risk of exposure. Business-related travel between China and our construction sites in Canada remains heavily restricted. The fabrication yards supporting LNG Canada’s work in Qingdao and Zhuhai continue to operate safely and we’re routinely assessing the health and well-being of our China-based contractors at those locations. The Government of Canada’s active travel health notices are informing our approach to minimizing potential spread of COVID-19 across our work locations globally, in particular our travel policy for staff and contractors. While we monitor this issue closely, our core construction activities remain on track.
