LNG Canada is a joint venture company comprised of Shell, PETRONAS, PetroChina, Mitsubishi Corporation and KOGAS.
Our five joint venture participants are global leaders in LNG, providing world-leading technical expertise in producing, storing, shipping and selling natural gas, along with access to markets.
Shell
Shell is a global leader in LNG since 1964, helping to pioneer the LNG sector. Shell operates about 20% of the world’s LNG vessels and has LNG supply projects either in operation or under construction in ten countries.
PETRONAS
PETRONAS is a fully integrated energy company with extensive experience in LNG. Together with its upstream partners, PETRONAS Canada is one of the largest natural gas resource owners in the country – with a majority of these resources located in the North Montney formation in northeast British Columbia.
PetroChina
PetroChina Company Limited is China’s largest oil and gas producer and supplier. PetroChina launched three LNG import facilities in China and is increasingly an investor in global unconventional gas production and LNG export facilities.
Mitsubishi Corporation
Mitsubishi Corporation (MC) is an integrated trading and investment company that develops and operates businesses across multiple industries together with its global network. MC has seven Business Groups: Energy & Power Solution, Materials Solution, Mineral Resources, Urban Development & Infrastructure, Mobility, Food Industry, and Smart-Life Creation. MC has been involved in LNG since 1969 and currently has interests in 13 LNG projects worldwide, capable of meeting approximately 20% of Japan’s LNG demand.
Korean Gas Corporation (KOGAS)
Korea Gas Corporation (KOGAS) is the world’s largest LNG importing company and South Korea’s principal LNG provider. KOGAS operates four LNG import terminals and a nationwide pipeline network in South Korea, and another terminal in Mexico.
